British Formula 4 has announced that a day working with the Williams Formula 1 team will be one of the prizes for this year’s champion.

The day will take place at Williams’ Grove headquarters rather than trackside at an F1 event, and will include a development session on its simulator in which they will be guided by one of the engineers who works with Williams’ junior drivers.

They will also do a training session in the team gymnasium with one of the Williams Driver Academy’s coaches.

The 2026 British F4 grid has recently grown with the additions of Jaber Al Sabah at Xcel Motorsport and Haarni Sadiq at JHR Developments.

Kuwaiti racer Al Sabah made his British F4 debut with Xcel in last year’s non-championship round at Silverstone that supported F1’s British Grand Prix. He finished 22nd in both races. He has remained with the team since then for a double programme in the Middle East.

At the end of 2025 he contested two of the three rounds in the United Arab Emirates-based Formula Trophy, netting a best finish of sixth, scoring nine points and coming 17th in the standings. Over the last month he has raced in UAE4, where he went points-free.

Sadiq, 16, is also continuing an existing partnership. He was part of JHR’s British F4 line-up for three rounds in 2025, and two 16th places were his best results from his first single-seater campaign as he stepped up to cars. In the Ultimate Karting Championship’s Rotax Junior class, Sadiq came 44th last year as a part-timer.

Argenti Motorsport, Chris Dittmann Racing, Rodin Motorsport and Xcel Motorsport have all been announcing driver signings for British Formula 4 recently.

Remaining with Argenti for a second season is Mercedes-AMG Formula 1 junior and 2024 CIK-FIA World Karting and Ginetta Junior champion Ethan Jeff-Hall.

As a single-seater rookie the 17-year-old came fifth in the 2025 British F4 standings with one victory and five other podiums. He also finished second in the first of the non-championship F1 support races at Silverstone.

CDR has also gone for continuity, retaining Tommy Harfield and Piotr Orzechowski from its 2025 line-up.

Harfield, 16, competed full-time and three wins late in the season propelled him to fourth in the standings. He had six other podium appearances (including the British Grand Prix support races) and qualified on pole twice. Polish racer Orzechowski did three rounds last year to kick off his car racing career, and his best result was a 17th place.

Rodin Motorsport will run Ethan Lennon and McLaren junior Dries Van Langendonck in British F4 this year. Both are already racing for the team in the Iberia-based Formula Winter Series, which they are one round into. Van Langendonck leads the points after claiming a win and a pole at Estoril, and Lennon is 11th in the standings with a fourth place to his name.

Lennon hails from South Africa, and the 15-year-old came 13th in entry-level sportscar series Ginetta Junior last year as a part-timer so will know several of British F4’s circuits. In his junior karting career he finished third in the Trofeo Andrea Margutti, 11th in the IAME Winter Cup, 16th in the ROK Superfinal.

Van Langendonck joined Rodin for the last three rounds of the 2025 British F4 season, taking a pole and victory in his debut weekend and coming 21st in the standings. His points-per-race average was the 11th highest in the field.

The 15-year-old Belgian was World and European champion, won the Champions of the Future and WSK Final Cup titles and was WSK Super Master Series runner-up in karting’s OK Junior class, and in the senior OK class was WSK FC and WSK SMS champion, eighth in the CIK-FIA European Championship and 17th in CotF.

Cole Hewetson, another South African, is staying at Xcel for a third year. He debuted in single-seaters with the team in the United Arab Emirates’ two-round Formula Trophy series in 2024, coming 15th, then was 18th in F4 Middle East at the start of 2025. A British F4 campaign followed in which he was 16th with one podium at the final round, then he ended the year with a FTrophy cameo.

Preparing to race in British F4 is top Indonesian karter Qarrar Firhand. The 15-year-old began testing in F4 machinery last July with AKM Motorsport, then racked up mileage with Argenti and Global Racing Service. He has confirmed he will make his F4 debut in summer, and it is expected he will do three British F4 rounds.

Karting graduate Lewis Wherrell has joined JHR Developments to race in British Formula 4 next year.

The 15-year-old already has some single-seater experience, making his debut in a Spanish F4 event than landing a top-five finish in a GB4 cameo.

Last month he joined Saudi Arabian F4 for two rounds, and by taking two wins and two poles he was able to come fifth in the standings despite missing over half of the season.

“I’m proud to announce that I’ll be racing for JHR Developments for the 2026 British F4 season,” said Wherrell.

“I’d like to thank everyone involved at JHR for this opportunity. I can’t wait to get started and I’m hoping for a good year ahead for both me and the whole team.”

JHR’s team principal Steven Hunter added: “We’ve had some really good test days so far with Lewis and he’s done quite a bit of running since the end of the season. He’s done a really good job so far. He’s been taking a lot of information onboard and applied what he’s learnt very methodically. With every test he’s gained in confidence and speed, so we’re looking forward to seeing Lewis out racing with JHR and I feel that he’ll be battling up the front in 2026.”

Wherrell has moved into single-seaters after an impressive karting career. In the OK Junior class he was Champions of the Future champion, won the WSK Champions Cup and Trofeo delle Industrie, was fourth in the CIK-FIA European championship, sixth in WSK’s Final Cup, eighth in its Euro Series and ninth in its Super Master Series.

After stepping up to the senior OK class, he came seventh in the European championship, eighth in WSK SMS, 11th in WSK FC and 23rd in the CIK-FIA World championship.

Also debuting in British F4 in 2026 are 16-year-old George Proudford-Nalder (Virtuosi Racing) and 18-year-old Vegard Klemetsen (Argenti Motorsport).

Australian racer Proudford-Nalder, who comes from a family of cattle farmers, switched from karting to cars this year via entry-level sportscar series Ginetta Junior. He came seventh in the standings with two podiums.

Klemetsen, from Norway, came 34th in the European championship for OK karts this year, one place behind Wherrell.

Fortec Motorsports has announced three additions to its 2026 British Formula 4 line-up, including a recently crowned F4 champion.

Car racing newcomer Kit Belofsky won the Saudi Arabian F4 title earlier this month with a campaign that featured four wins and four other podiums from 10 races.

Last year he raced in the OK Junior kart class, finishing fourth in the CIK-FIA World championship, coming 16th in the CIK-FIA European championship and Champions of the Future, and 19th in WSK’s Super Master Series.

Before heading to the Middle East two months ago to make his car racing debut, he had done one day of F4 testing in Europe and it had been in wet conditions.

“I’m incredibly excited to be joining Fortec Motorsports for the 2026 British F4 season,” said the 15-year-old Briton.

“I’m ready to work hard, fight for results, and make the most of this opportunity. The British F4 grid is one of the toughest in the world, but we hope to give a strong showing from the get go.”

Fortec’s team principal Oliver Dutton added: “[Kit’s] results at such a young age are remarkable, but what impresses us even more is his focus, hunger, discipline, and relentless drive to improve. For someone his age to already be performing at this level is very special, and we’re excited to help Kit take the next step in his career. His professionalism and commitment make him an outstanding addition to our 2026 programme.”

The other additions to Fortec’s line-up are 15-year-old twin brothers Cash and Roman Felber, who are coming from the USA.

Last year the pair each made Ligier Junior Formula Championship cameoes, getting experience of first-generation F4 machinery. They then raced in the championship full-time for 2025, with Cash winning twice and taking four other podiums en route to third in the standings while Roman had one victory and four other podiums as he came seventh in the points.

“The goal for 2026 is simple: arrive prepared, extract everything the car has, and leave no doubt,” Cash Felber stated.

“Fortec Motorsports’ attention to detail is exactly what I need in my career right now, and their engineering depth and coaching structure will help on the path to Formula 1.”

His brother Roman said: “British F4 is the next test, and I’m bringing the same process from this season: learn fast, adapt faster, go quicker. The series rewards discipline and race intelligence – qualities I grew in abundance this year.”

Dutton explained that the twins had “shown us clean fundamentals, intelligent racecraft, and the humility in debriefs that separates good drivers from championship contenders”.

Alfie Slater, younger brother of Formula Regional Europe champion Freddie, will debut in single-seaters next year with Rodin Motorsport in British Formula 4.

The 15-year-old already has plentiful car racing experience, having come ninth in entry-level sportscar series Ginetta Junior and third in its winter series in 2024 then fifth in the main series’ 2025 season.

During his karting career he finished third in the LeCont Trophy, 10th in Trofeo delle Industrie, 17th in the CIK-FIA World Championship and came 12th in Champions of the Future and 18th in the CIK-FIA European championship on OK Junior karts.

“I’m very excited to start my single seater journey in British F4 with Rodin,” said Slater. “I had some good results in Ginetta Juniors and I hope to replicate that in F4, but this time come home with the championship.”

Rodin’s sporting director Benn Huntingford added: “We’re pleased to welcome Alfie Slater to Rodin for the 2026 British F4 season. He’s shown real speed and composure and we believe he’s a strong fit for our programme.”

Hitech GP has added Theo Palmer to its 2026 British Formula 4 line-up. He joined the team this October for the first two rounds in Saudi Arabian F4, where Hitech runs all the cars, and took two podiums and a pole.

His main 2025 programme was with Xcel Motorsport in British F4. He missed round one due to not yet being 15 years old, sixth place finishes were his results and he came 18th in the standings.

“I’m really excited to be joining Hitech for this next step in my single-seater career,” said Palmer. “They’re a really professional team and have either won or been in the fight for the title every year. I can’t wait to learn from them and fight for strong results throughout the season.”

Palmer came 14th in the Rotax Max Challenge International Trophy and 25th in the Kartmasters British Grand Prix for Rotax Junior karts in 2024, and on X30 Junior karts finished eighth in the grand prix. He lives in the United Arab Emirates, did most of his karting there and has competed with an Emirati license.

“We have kept a close eye on Theo in his British F4 debut season and have been impressed to see the same pace and adaptability that he consistently demonstrated in karting,” said Hitech’s F4 team manager Dominic Stott.

“We’re confident he has all the tools to make an immediate impact this season and will continue to develop.”

Argenti Motorsport recently announced it has signed Chinese racer Sun Anzhe. The 15-year-old heads to British F4 after competing on OK karts this year with Victor Martins’ Victory Lane team, and having become a member of the All Road Management stable at the start of 2025.

Leaving Argenti for Chris Dittmann Racing as he embarks on a sophomore British F4 season is Henry Mercier. The 17-year-old American came 17th this year with one podium, and was a car racing newcomer after two years spent karting in Europe.

Hitech GP has announced that Red Bull junior Chiara Battig will be part of its British Formula 4 line-up next year.

The 15-year-old Swiss is already racing for the team in Saudi Arabian F4, where Hitech operates all of the cars. The 10-race championship is Battig’s first in single-seaters, and she sits 12th in the standings with a best finish of seventh place.

Her first mileage in an F4 car came in the Red Bull Driver Search at Estoril in August, which led to her being signed as one of the brand’s junior drivers.

“I’m thrilled to join Hitech for 2026. Karting has given me a great foundation and with the benefit of the Saudi Arabian F4 championship experience, I feel ready to take the next step,” said Battig.

“British F4 is the right place for that and I’m looking forward to the competition and iconic British tracks, and of course Silverstone. I’m excited to get started and fight for strong results.”

Battig was in the Alpine F1 team’s female-focused Rac(H)er programme in 2023, but departed it for 2024. Although she won a third successive Swiss championship on OK Junior karts, she lacked results abroad until joining Formula 2 racer Victor Martins and his brother Nicolas’s Victory Lane team for the step up to senior karting.

In the opening round of this year’s CIK-FIA European championship for OK karts she looked like a victory contender for most of the weekend and finished the final in fifth, but scored no points in the subsequent three rounds and dropped down to 15th in the standings.

She was also 29th in Champions of the Future, 46th in WSK’s Super Master Series and on OK-N karts is currently second in the CotF Academy Program.

“Chiara brings an impressive track record in karting and the Saudi Arabian F4 championship, and we’re excited to see what she can do in her first season,” said Hitech’s British F4 team manager Dominic Stott.

“The transition to single-seaters is a big step, but she has already shown that she’s ready for it. We’re looking forward to seeing her build momentum throughout the season.”

The 2026 British Formula 4 grid is beginning to take shape, with multiple teams signing drivers for next season.

Hitech GP has just announced that it will field Red Bull junior Scott Lindblom, who is currently contesting his debut single-seater campaign in Saudi Arabian F4 where Hitech operates all the cars. He sits third in the standings with one win.

“Joining Hitech for British F4 is an exciting first step in my single-seater career,” said the 15-year-old Swede.

“I’m looking forward to learning the car and the UK circuits, and I’m ready to work hard, adapt fast, and aim for strong results from the first race.”

Lindblom already has experience of several of them, having come fourth in entry-level sportscar series Ginetta Junior this year. In 2024 he primarily raced in the OK kart class, winning WSK’s Euro Series and coming eighth in Champions of the Future.

His year started by coming 11th in WSK’s Super Master Series for OK Junior karts, and in that category he was previously third in the World championship, fourth in WSK’s Euro Series and 15th in the CIK-FIA European championship.

“Scott arrives with one of the most impressive karting resumés of his generation,” said Hitech’s British F4 team manager Dominic Stott. “His selection for the Red Bull Junior Team underlines his capability and we are looking forward to helping him develop into one of the leading contenders in 2026.”

Fortec Motorsports has announced American-Australian driver Ethan Carney will join its line-up after two seasons racing in Ginetta Junior.

The 15-year-old, who started karting aged 12, came 17th in Ginetta Junior and also contested its Winter Series as a rookie in 2024. This year he came 11th in the main championship.

Chris Dittmann Racing has gone to touring cars for its first signing, bringing in 17-year-old Daniella Sutton.

She won the inaugural BRSCC Fiesta Junior Scholarship in 2024, setting her up for a two-year spell in the BRSCC’s Formula Ford Fiesta Junior Championship. In her sophomore campaign she was a regular frontrunner. Sutton has juvenile idiopathic arthritis.

Virtuosi Racing already has two drivers for next season: Joseph Smith and Jarrett Clark.

Smith was fourth in the 2024 Ginetta Junior Winter Series and 10th in the main championship this year after doing a half-season. The 16-year-old then stepped up to British F4 with Hitech, contesting the last four rounds and coming 29th in the standings.

This year British-Australian driver Clark was eighth in Ginetta Junior and fourth in its winter series, where he won a race last weekend. During his years racing OK Junior class karts preceding that, he came 12th in CotF, 19th in WSK’s Euro Series and 25th in its Champions Cup, and 26th in the CIK-FIA World championship.

James Piszcyk won the final race of the British Formula 4 season around Brands Hatch’s Grand Prix layout as Rodin Motorsport secured the teams’ title.

Piszcyk led lights-to-flag and finished 0.562 seconds ahead of Rodin team-mate Adam Al Azhari. The win was his sixth of the season, more than anybody else this year.

There was little movement at the front of the field for much of the race. Piszcyk held onto the lead from Al Azhari and Ethan Jeff-Hall. The top three broke away slightly from the rest of the pack, with champion Fionn McLaughlin in fourth.

In the race’s second half, McLaughlin put pressure on Jeff-Hall, trying to find a way past and allowing top two to escape down the road.

Al Azhari kept in touch with Piszcyk, but the leader offered no opportunities to overtake and Al Azhari had to settle for second.

Jeff-Hall held off McLaughlin to complete the podium, despite the Hitech GP driver seeming to have better pace at the end of the race.

The closest battle for much of the race was between Dries Van Langendonck and Martin Molnar.

Rodin’s Van Langendonck got a good start to move past Virtuosi Racing’s Molnar and Xcel Motorsport’s Theo Palmer to fifth.

As Palmer slipped further back, Molnar stayed close to the McLaren junior ahead. He tried getting alongside Van Langendonck late on, but could not get his nose ahead and slotted back in behind. They were split by 0.388s at the finish.

Chase Fernandez ended the finale in seventh place, ahead of August Raber, Tommy Harfield and Thomas Bearman.

Tommy Harfield took a lights-to-flag victory in the reversed-grid race at British Formula 4’s Brands Hatch finale.

The Chris Dittmann Racing driver started from pole position and was unchallenged throughout the 14-lap race. He set the fastest lap of the race on his way to the victory, leading Cole Hewetson by 1.422 seconds.

Chase Fernandez got the best start when the lights went out, passing Thomas Bearman to move up to third. The top three broke away slightly from the rest of the field on the opening lap, but that advantage would not last long.

A wide moment for Bearman dropped him back behind Fionn McLaughlin. As he came past, McLaughlin’s right rear tyre made contact with Bearman’s car, almost sending McLaughlin into a spin. The freshly crowned champion held on and would soon close the gap to the leaders ahead.

Hitech’s McLaughlin initially brought team-mate Bearman with him, but Bearman began to slip backwards in the closing stages of the race, leaving four drivers at the front of the order.

McLaughlin kept the pressure on Fernandez, but there were no opportunities to make a move, and he had to settle for fourth. Likewise, Fernandez kept close behind Hewetson, but did not pass his Xcel Motorsport team-mate.

Bearman was caught by Ethan Jeff-Hall in the closing stages of the race. The pair were separated by just 0.178s at the chequered flag, but Bearman held on to take fifth.

Dries Van Langendonck claimed seventh ahead of Martin Molnar, both of whom fell backwards early on as McLaughlin and Jeff-Hall made up positions on the opening lap. Adam Al Azhari and Henry Joslyn completed the top 10.

James Piszcyk won British Formula 4’s first race on Brands Hatch’s Grand Prix layout, but had his title hopes end as Fionn McLaughlin was crowned in second place.

The Hitech GP driver clinched the title with two races to spare by finishing 0.399 seconds behind main rival Piszcyk, who led lights-to-flag.

The poleman got a poor start, but managed to stay ahead of McLaughlin and Adam Al Azhari. His Rodin Motorsport team-mate initially challenged McLaughlin, but then came under attack from Argenti Motorsport’s Ethan Jeff-Hall.

He had started fifth after receiving a three-place grid penalty for a qualifying infringement but rose to third early on and kept with the top two while Al Azhari slipped backwards.

The leading trio would spread out, with Piszcyk briefly pulling more than a second away before being reeled in. McLaughlin was never close enough to make a move for victory, but held onto second comfortably ahead of Jeff-Hall.

Al Azhari set the fastest lap, but still finished more than three seconds behind Jeff-Hall in fourth, ahead of Virtuosi Racing’s Martin Molnar and Chris Dittmann Racing’s Tommy Harfield.

Further down the field, there was pre-race drama. Dries Van Langendonck and August Raber were due to start from the pitlane, but Raber encountered problems on the way from the paddock and missed the race. Rowan Campbell-Pilling was also absent due to repair work following an incident in qualifying.

Van Langendonck did take part in the race, and came from the back of the field to finish 14th. He was aided in his climb up the order when Cole Hewetson was forced to pit early on after contact sent him spinning and caused a rear-left puncture.

Chase Fernandez, who started directly ahead of Hewetson, avoided the drama and came home seventh, ahead of Xavier Avramides and Alexandar Savinkov. He spent most of the race battling with Thomas Bearman for 10th.

Savinkov managed to find a way through in the closing laps, then a race-ending off for Theo Palmer on the penultimate lap promoted the pair each up a spot in the points positions.
