The 2026 calendars for international Formula 4 championships F1 Academy, F4 South East Asia, French F4 and Nordic 4 have been revealed.

The all-female F1 Academy will continue to run exclusively on Formula 1’s support bill, with seven rounds in six countries. More can be read about next season’s schedule here.

F4 SEA’s calendar has been distributed by Evans GP, one of the championship’s teams. From its inaugural season in 2016 through to 2019, F4 SEA’s grid was centrally run by Meritus GP.

The COVID-19 pandemic led to no racing until 2023, when the grid featured multiple teams for the first time. There was no 2024 season, then this year’s calendar was almost identical to what is planned for 2026.

Sepang will host round one (April 24-26) next year, then the field heads to Thailand to race at Buriram (May 23/24) and the Bangsaen street circuit (July 3-5). Bangsaen was first visted this year, with F4 SEA supporting its grand prix. The final two rounds of 2026 are at Sepang on August 21-23 and September 18-20.

French F4 is still centrally run, and reduces from six rounds to five next year but retains its event abroad.

The first four rounds, at Nogaro (April 4-6), Dijon (May 15-17), Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium (June 19-21) and Magny-Cours (July 31-August 2), are in the same order as and in very similar dates to in 2025. Long-time venues Ledenon and Le Mans are dropped, and Paul Ricard returns on October 9-11 as the finale after a year off the calendar.

The Denmark-based Nordic 4 has historically been open to F4 and Formula 5 cars, and is now part of Nordic Championship Formula (NCF) which combines its grids with Formula Renault 1.6 cars from Sweden’s Formula Nordic championship.

In 2026, the paddock’s first-generation F4 cars will be retired and Danish manufacturer Aquila has developed a faster, halo-shod car taking technical inspiration from Formula 1000 to replace it.

There will be nine NCF rounds next year, with four making up the Danish championships. The season starts with trips to Padborg Park and Jyllandsringen, mainstays since Danish F4’s inaugural season in 2017, then Karlskoga features for a fourth successive year as the starting point of a three-round Swedish leg.

Sturup Raceway returns, having hosted Danish F4 in 2022, then the paddock goes to Kinnekulle for the first time since 2019.

Norway’s Hermann Tilke-designed Rudskogen track was raced on by Danish F4 in 2018, and it will host NCF next August. The championship is then part of the Danish Grand Prix at Jyllandsringen and Padborg Park’s Night Race event.

Ring Djursland drops off the schedule after nine seasons, but in October there will be exhibition races at Dutch Grand Prix venue Zandvoort.

The Denmark-based Nordic 4 and Nordic Championship Formula titles were decided in a dramatic final round at Jyllandsringen on September 27/28.

Title contender Sebastian Bach topped practice, his 1m06.964s benchmark comfortably out of reach of everyone else until rival Marius Kristiansen got within 0.232 seconds of his pace with his penultimate lap. Silas Egedal and Alexia Danielsson were the only others within a second of him.

In qualifying Bach was not quite able to match his earlier pace as he set a 1m07.054s. His non-improvement proved costly, as Kristiansen beat him to race one pole by 0.109s and 14-year-old Egedal was only 0.011s behind him. Victor Snebjoern Poulsen was 0.484s off pole in fourth, edging Magnus Pedersen by 0.06s.

Formula 5 benchmark man Mads Hoe was sixth, 1.003s slower than Kristiansen and 0.029s quicker than top Formula Renault 1.6 driver Hampus Varis.

Race one concluded the day, and victory was fought for between Kristiansen and Bach. Hoe got into third early on, before Pedersen tracked him down and got ahead. Egedal and Poulsen also battled until the latter spun and had to work his way back up the order. Egedal was penalised despite the pair believing there was no contact, and after it was applied Egedal was classified seventh. F5 runner Anton Morsing climbed from 19th to 10th, and Poulsen was 11th.

They all gained a place post-race, as on-the-road winner Kristiansen was disqualified over technical non-compliance and Bach became victorious. It closed up the title fight, and put Kristiansen at the back of race two’s reversed grid the next day.

There was a bit of drama getting him into 19th place on the dummy grid, and Egedal stalled from third but recovered the lost places at the end of the formation lap and was straight into second on the real start. It only took a few corners for him to clear FR1.6 runner Richard Olson, and in the race’s second half he pulled away up front.

Casper Nissen took second from Olson into turn one on lap two, while Kristiansen jumped to eighth on lap one, and took fourth from Poulsen as lap four began. He took third from top FR1.6 driver Melvin Kalousdian on lap six, at which point there was too large a gap to make up to the top two. Kalousdian would finish sixth, behind Pedersen and Hoe.

Pedersen led the title decider lights-to-flag, with Nissen starting and finishing second. Bach ended lap one in third while Kristiansen had climbed four spots to 10th. Another two places were gained on lap two, then progress stalled once he got into seventh.

Kristiansen was helped by Poulsen retiring from sixth on lap 11, then he got stuck behind Hoe. He passed him on the last lap, and found himself in third as Bach was penalised 20s for disrespecting double waved yellow flags brought out late on due to Robin Hafstrom stopping on track. Bach dropped to eighth, losing the Nordic 4 title to Kristiansen but still taking the NCF crown by one point.

Hoe and Morsing were promoted to fifth and sixth, taking the F5 titles in the respective series, and Olson was a non-starter. The champions were only confirmed two-and-a-half weeks after the finale, when the Danish motorsport federation issued the final points tables.

Kalousdian took the crown in Sweden’s FR1.6-based Formula Nordic series, which also concluded its season.

Marius Kristiansen reclaimed the Nordic Championship Formula points lead at Padborg Park’s Night Race event.

He usurpsed Sebastian Bach, who started last weekend’s penultimate round with a big pace advantage as he was fastest by 1.767 seconds in practice over Victor Snebjoern Poulsen.

Friday morning ended with qualifying, and Bach set a 1m01.066s to claim race one pole by 0.304s over Kristiansen. Casper Nissen was a further 0.068s behind, and Formula 5 drivers Anton Morsing and Mads Hoe were both within 0.62s of pole in fourth and fifth.

Melvin Kalousdian was the top Formula Renault 1.6 driver in 11th, 1.808s off the pace.

The day ended with race one, and Nissen carved his way through to a maiden victory. He had a prolonged battle with Kristiansen and Bach, which actually allowed Morsing to stay in contention too.

Nissen won by 0.53s, leading home Kristiansen and first-time podium finisher Morsing.

Poulsen was 14s behind in fifth, and debutant Milla Sjostrand secured the final point after a big battle for 10th.

The reversed-grid race two was the next afternoon. Kalousdian put in a great drive from the front row, but just missed out on the podium.

He led FR1.6 runner Hampus Varis and Silas Egedal into the opening corner. Egedal, Bach and Nissen all overtook Varis before the end of lap two, and Kalousdian built a gap.

Bach went down Egedal’s inside at turn eight on lap three, and Kristiansen took several corners of lap four to get his move done on him.

When Kalousdian did come under attack, he was saved by Kristiansen coming onto Bach’s rear and forcing his way past into turn nine. It helped Kalousdian break away again, albeit only for one lap.

He had to cover the inside into turn one next time by to keep three Formula 4 drivers at bay, and Kristiansen took the lead around the outside at turn eight. Kalousdian then locked up into turn nine, dropping him to fourth.

He did get back alongside Nissen on the next lap, but at turn eight Nissen swept around the outside (after near-contact) to get agead.

There was then several laps of yellow flag action due to Carl Pramming spinning, and when racing resumed Nissen and Kalousdian continued fighting. There was a big queue of cars, and while Kristiansen pulled away to win, Hoe slipped past at the last corner (which is also turn one) for third and Nissen secured fourth by 0.002s.

Hoe had skipped race one due a technical issue, and had started race two from 19th.

Kristiansen had pole for race three and went unchallenged up front. Bach took second from Nissen on lap five with a turn eight dive, then was similarly lonely.

As Egedal tried passing Poulsen for fourth on lap seven in multiple places, it brought Magnus Pedersen onto their tails and almost triggered contact. He locked up into turn one but got ahead of Egedal, and did the same on Poulsen on lap nine.

Egedal made a great move around the outside of turn one on lap 10 to finally clear Poulsen, but now there were even more drivers joining in and Hoe dived past Poulsen late in the lap.

Pedersen caught up to Nissen and had another lock-up that nosed him ahead, but after more side-by-action a queue had formed behind.

On lap 12 they were wheel-to-wheel through to turn five where Pedersen nosed back past. But they banged wheels down the back straight and remained next to each other until Pedersen was forced off exiting turn nine.

Egedal swiftly overtook Nissen into turn one next time by, Hoe followed through at turn two then Pedersen nerfed Nissen into the turn three gravel where he would remain.

Pedersen was penalised and finished seventh, while Hoe kept his Nordic 4 title hopes going in third ahead of Egedal. Poulsen finished fifth, and remains in the Nordic Championship Formula title fight with one round remaining.

Nordic 4 was back in action with 24 cars at Jyllandsringen on August 21-24, with the races counting towards the Danish championship and Nordic Championship Formula.

There was pre-event test action on Thursday, and Sebastian Bach set a 1m07.273s to lead the way. Marius Kristiansen was 0.169 seconds behind in second, and there was a gap of 0.322s to Victor Snebjoern Poulsen in third. Mads Hoe did little running and was 5.307s off the pace in 18th.

Free practice followed on Friday. Bach was quickest, posting a 1m07.184s on his final lap. It put him 0.314s ahead of Poulsen, with Kristiansen a further 0.047s behind.

There was a gap of over a second to Casper Nissen in fourth, who pipped debutant Silas Egedal by 0.009s.

Saturday began with qualifying, and despite having his fastest laps deleted for speeding under yellow flag conditions Kristiansen was able to hold on to first place on the timesheet by 0.005s. He denied Bach pole, with Nissen trailing by 0.337s in third. Magnus Pedersen and Formula 5 poleman Mads Hoe were next up, and Melvin Kalousdian was the top Formula Renault 1.6 entrant in 11th, 0.95s off the overall pole.

Kristiansen was able to the end the day by converting pole into victory. After lap one there was no overtaking in the top seven, with Kristiansen and Bach streaking clear of Pedersen who had passed Nissen but then had him on his tail thereon.

Hoe held fifth, and Kalousdian dropped to 10th but recovered back one spot when Alexia Danielsson retired.

FR1.6 driver Viktor Molander stopped on the formation lap of race two and was a non-starter, while Anton Morsing made a very slow start from the front row and fell down the order.

Egedal led the field from reversed-grid pole, but a mistake led to him being passed by Poulsen on lap one. Nissen got through on lap three, and Hoe was initially fourth but could not match the F4 cars.

Poulsen was 1.6s clear when the safety car was summoned on lap six. Bach’s rear-right wheel had made contact with Hoe’s front-left when he passed him on the pit straight, sending him spinning into the sand at turn one.

There was a clash between FR1.6 drivers, and racing restarted on lap nine. The top four, completed by Pedersen, were way clear of Hoe who then served a 10s stop-go penalty and dropped out of points contention.

Poulsen started to gap Nissen, but he closed back in late on and finished 0.419s behind the first-time winner. Egedal held off Pedersen to make the podium, and 12s back was George Sebastian Pavlopoulos who led home F5 winner Morsing and Danielsson.

Richard Olson lost the FR1.6 class win to Hampus Varis after a penalty was applied.

Nissen had pole for race three, ahead of Pedersen and Poulsen. Kristiansen jumped from 10th to fourth on lap one, and took third on lap two as a gap opened to Egedal in fifth.

Through laps five and six, Kristiansen had his nose right on Pedersen and Poulsen was left behind. He got ahead on lap seven, and on lap eight Bach overtook Pavlopoulos for sixth into turn one.

Kristiansen went side-by-side with Nissen multiple times on lap nine, and again on lap 10 when he managed to squeeze past. However at the next corner Nissen and Pedersen overtook him.

In return, Kristiansen almost did a double move on lap 11 but ran off the track. He stayed on the throttle to keep second and dived into the next hairpin, going deep and leaving the inside line free for Pedersen to take the lead.

Traffic to lap was now involved, and the five-second gap to fourth dissapeared in a chaotic start to lap 12. There were yellow flags and Egedal copped a six-second penalty by ignoring those and going from fourth to first. Kristiansen and Pedersen followed him into turn one, and a late-braking move from Pavlopoulos on the outside put him fourth until he spun at turn two.

Pedersen and Kristiansen got back past Egedal, and it was a five-car lead fight going into the final lap with Nissen and Bach involved.

Kristiansen had another off that led to him crashing into Pedersen when trying to pass hjm as he rejoined, then they banged wheels again at each of the next corners until Kristiansen cut turn 11 and insteaded almost squeezed Egedal off after rejoining.

Nissen went past for second, and finished 0.472s behind Pedersen. Kristiansen took the Nordic 4 points lead in third, and Egedal was demoted to sixth behind Bach and Poulsen. Just 1.475s split the top six at the finish.

Sebastian Bach went unbeaten at Swedish circuit Falkenberg last weekend to move into the Nordic Championship Formula lead.

In pre-event testing, Marius Kristiansen set a 43.716s to pip Formula 4 rival Bach to top spot by 0.128 seconds. Formula 5 driver Mads Hoe was 0.184s behind in third.

Bach lowered the pace in practice, setting a 43.307s and having a notably large 0.462s gap to Kristiansen in second around the short lap. Victor Snebjoern Poulsen was 0.007s slower than Kristiansen, with Casper Nissen and Alexia Danielsson also within a second of the pace.

It was a lot closer in qualifying, with Bach topping the timesheet by just 0.015s over Kristiansen and 0.064s to Poulsen. Hoe was 0.32s off pole in fourth, just ahead of George Sebastian Pavlopoulos.

Bach would have had a bigger margin had his fastest lap not been deleted for overtaking the safety car as it headed into the pits.

Melvin Kalousdian was the top Formula Renault 1.6-driving Formula Nordic entrant in 10th, within 0.1s of the top seven and 0.655s slower than Bach.

A lights-to-flag victory followed for Bach in race one, which he won by 2.987s. Poulsen passed Kristiansen for second early on, and a distant Pavlopoulos held off Nissen for fourth by 0.387s.

Hoe was F5 winner in sixth after a bad start which he had to make his way back up the order from, and Kalousdian finished a second clear of FNordic rival Richard Olson in eighth.

Alexia Danielsson and Mille Hoe were non-starters due to technical issues, and the engine issues which plagued the latter led to her brother Mads giving up his car so she could drive it in race two the next day.

Race two’s reversed grid set up more action, and Cecille Noer-Jensen collided with Hoe early on. Nissen made his way to the front before the safety car came out to remove Noer-Jensen’s car, but then fumbled the restart and Pavlopoulos took the lead.

Kristiansen and Bach made their way past Pavlopoulos and finished 2.37s apart, but victory went to the latter after Kristiansen was penalised five seconds for track limits abuse.

Anton Morsing was F5 winner in fourth, holding off several F4 drivers, and Hoe recovered to 10th. Kalousdian and Olson’s fight for eighth place, and FNordic victory, was decided by 0.238s.

Bach was on pole again for race three, which was twice interrupted by the safety car but did not prove disruptive in his route to victory. Kristiansen was second, and Pavlopoulos denied Poulsen third by 0.08s. Kalousdian and Morsing won their classes in fifth and sixth, with Morsing finishing just 0.044s ahead of Nissen.

Nordic 4 has announced it will retire its long-used Formula 4 cars after this season, with the category being replaced by a new chassis taking technical inspiration from Formula 1000.

Launched in 2017 as Danish F4, the championship has also been open to Formula Ford cars in its ‘Formula 5’ class. Mads Hoe won the overall title in 2021 as an F5 driver, and remains competitive today against first-generation F4 machine.

There was a visit to Norway in 2018, Sweden was first in 2019 and then there has been rounds in the country since 2022. This pre-empted an alliance with the Formula Renault 1.6-spec Formula Nordic which began with sharing grids in 2023 and has expanded into a joint Nordic Championship Formula title this year.

Danish manufacturer Aquila has been contracted to provide Nordic 4’s new car for 2026 onwards, which will be faster and cheaper to run than its F4 predecessor, after championship organisers deemed contemporary entry-level single-seaters on the market not suitable for its needs.

The halo-shod Aquila Formula Nova will have a tubular frame chassis, a three-cylinder motorcycle engine with a power output of around 135 horsepower and a driver-in weight of around 400kg. Test runs are planned soon, and delivery of the cars to customers is scheduled for the end of 2025.

The technical specifications are similar to F1000, which is an open single-seater category based around small and affordable cars with motorcycle engines from different brands. There are other common features, but the category has evolved differently around the world.

F1000 was previously known as Formula Jedi in the United Kingdom, and Aquila’s own F1000 car has closed wheels. It has been the basis of one of Scandinavia’s most popular entry-level car racing series, since the lightweight open-cockpit cars prepare drivers well for higher levels of single-seaters and prototype sportscars.

Australia adopted F1000 with a greater focus on its sportscar similarities, and its cars had more complex aerodynamics, while the largest F1000 scene is in the USA where there have been multiple chassis manufacturers and championships.

Formula 5 runner Mads Hoe won twice against Formula 4 opposition in last weekend’s Nordic 4 round at Ring Djursland.

In practice he was only eighth, 1.154 seconds off the pace around the very short and undulating lap, as Sebastian Bach led Marius Krisitansen by 0.104s at the top having set a 51.062s.

Bach improved to 50.836s in qualifying, pipping Hoe by 0.055s. Kristiansen was behind by 0.486s in third.

Hoe actually began the race in fourth, but was leading by lap three. While Bach only lost one spot, there was drama for Magnus Pedersen who fell from second to 13th.

As Hoe built his lead of 5.229s up front, Kristiansen pressured Bach and got ahead on lap 13. The poleman reclaimed second place a lap later then beat Kristiansen in a photo finish by 0.118s. Casper Nissen and Victor Snebjoern Poulsen were just behind them.

Anton Morsing, Alexia Danielsson and Mads Larsen completed the top eight, which was flipped for race two’s grid.

Danielsson took the lead immediately from F5 runner Larsen, and a huge crash involving Poulsen meant the safety car then led the field until the end of lap four.

Kristiansen overtook F5 driver Morsing for third at the first corner (following F4’s starting straight) on lap six, and Hoe got past too a few corners later. Danielsson was cleared almost as quickly on lap seven, and Kristiansen gradually pulled away.

Bach dived down the inside of Danielsson on lap 11, as a queue formed behind her, then chased down Hoe. On the final lap they went wheel-to-wheel but Hoe’s expertise kept him ahead, albeit by just 0.165s.

Morsing overtook Larsen mid-race, but Pedersen had a far harder job and only got the job done near the end.

Hoe had pole for race three, and despite lots of wheelspin led into the first corner. Bach overtook Kristiansen for second, and Nissen went past Danielsson for fifth.

Nobody could match Hoe thereon, and the drama was all behind. Danielsson tried to pass Morsing at multiple corners on lap two, then eventually she hit him and dropped behind Larsen.

Bach and Kristiansen also made contact as they concluded lap two, earning themselves penalties, and they fought until an error by Bach at the final high-speed corner on lap five cost him second place.

Nissen and Morsing were eyeing him up by lap eight, and Larsen joined their train on lap nine but a lock-up then dropped him back. As he focused on his mirrors, Nissen lost touch with Bach and on lap 17 of 19 he went wide at turn two and Morsing seized the moment.

Larsen tried doing the same at the next hairpin, but a lapped car soon got in the way and the top six’s positions were set.

Marius Kristiansen moved into the Nordic Championship Formula lead last weekend at Karlskoga.

It was a busy Saturday for drivers from the Nordic 4 series for Formula 4 and 5 cars and the Formula Renault 1.6-based Formula Nordic, and it began with a test session.

F4 driver Sebastian Bach led the way, setting a 1m05.895s to sit 0.557 seconds clear of F5 veteran Mads Hoe. Bach was quickest again in practice, a 1m05.915s putting him 0.131s ahead of Magnus Pedersen and 0.24s up on Kristiansen. Hoe was fourth, and Richard Olson was top FNordic driver in eighth.

Qualifying also went Bach’s way, as he improved to 1m05.235s. Kristiansen was 0.408s behind in second, just ahead of Victor Snebjoern Poulsen, and Olson was 0.815s off pole in fourth. George Sebastian Pavlopoulos and F5 runner Anton Morsing were also within a second of the pace, and Hoe was less 0.1s slower but down in eighth.

Bach led lights-to-flag in race one, and after a strong start Olson dropped to seventh on lap one and then to 10th before recovering to seventh. That was helped by Pedersen crashing out of the position on lap 11 of 18.

Hoe was an early retiree, so Morsing was unrivalled for the F5 win. He finished sixth after losing out to Alexia Danielsson and Pavlopoulos on lap one.

Casper Nissen attacked Morsing late on and got ahead with two laps to go, but then fell to a very distant ninth a lap later.

The top eight were reversed for the grid of Sunday morning’s race two, and FNordic driver Melvin Kalousdian held the lead from pole ahead of Olson.

Kristiansen and Danielsson were chasing Kalousdian by the end of lap two, while Olson was down in eighth. The lead went to Kristiansen on lap three, and a lap later he was being pursued by Bach. They got very close, and on lap 12 Bach dived down Kristiansen’s inside at turn one. A few corners later they swapped places again, then Bach went off down an escape round and rejoined in third before losing further ground and pitting.

Despite being unchallenged after that, Kristiansen did not win as a 10s penalty for jumping the start dropped him behind Danielsson and Poulsen. Hoe came from 18th to finish sixth, ahead of Kalousdian.

Kristiansen redeemed himself in race three from pole. Poulsen bogged down at the start then went off a few corners later, and Danielsson challenged the poleman until Bach dived past her.

She later got spun around by Nissen, who got a 20s penalty, while Bach got a five-second penalty for track limits abuse. He overtook Kristiansen with two laps to go, but his penalty meant he finished third behind Krisitiansen and Pedersen.

The most exciting battle was for fifth, as Olson held off FNordic rival Hampus Varis for the whole race. Kalousdian was ahead before stopping on track, and Poulsen conceded his advantage with a huge lock-up and off at turn one on lap 13.

Mads Hoe took his own Formula 5 car to victory in all three Nordic Championship Formula races at Anderstorp.

Denmark’s Nordic 4 championship for Formula 4 and F5 cars combined with Sweden’s Formula Renault 1.6-based Formula Nordic to form a 21-car field, and Hoe’s experience put him ahead.

The 2021 Danish F4 champion set a 1m36.557s to beat Magnus Pedersen to pole by 0.139 seconds. Sebastian Bach and Viktor Snebjoern Poulsen also lapped sub-1m37s, with Anton Morsing the next best F5 car down in seventh. Melvin Kalousdian was FNordic’s fastest driver, but 1.371s off pole in eighth.

At the start of race one, Hoe’s car jolted moving off the line but he was still able to lead into the opening corner. Pedersen got alongside on the following straight, then took the inside to be leading before turn four.

He quickly built a gap to Hoe, but then on lap three a huge lunge at turn two put Hoe back ahead. Marius Kristiansen, who was fourth, went off and fell behind Poulsen. Next time by he locked up at turn two trying to regain lost ground, but soon reclaimed fourth as Poulsen went off. Jorgen Leerskov stopped at the side of the pit straight with severe damage that ruled him out of race two, but the safety car was not needed.

Kristiansen was pressuring Bach for third next, and on lap six went side-by-side through the turn four hairpin and completed a pass on the outside. Up front, Hoe had distanced himself from Pedersen, who on lap eight lost out to Kristiansen before they even reached turn two’s heavy braking zone. Pedersen attempted to get back past, and succeeded with his attempt at turn six. However Kristiansen moved into second again, and Pedersen had an off that left him a distant third.

There was also a last-lap swap for seventh, as George Sebastian Pavlopoulos went off and Casper Nissen got past. Kalousdian was FNordic winner in a lonely ninth.

Pavlopoulos had reversed-grid pole for race two, but in a dramatic opening lap fell down the order while Pedersen streaked into the lead and Hoe fought his way from eighth to second.

Hoe took the lead at turn six on lap four, and Bach pressured Pedersen until passing him on lap six. Poulsen, Nissen and F5 runner Mads Larsen were now close behind, as Morsing parked up his car at the side of the track.

It was close at the front, and Bach’s go at taking the lead on lap eight sent him off and behind Pedersen. He returned to second at turn six on lap nine, as Larsen overtook Poulsen.

There was more drama on the last lap, with Bach getting within 0.265s of Hoe and Pedersen crashing out at turn two after Poulsen and Larsen overtook him on either side.

Hoe had pole for the longer race three but another bad start. It proved inconsequential, as he only felt pressure for a few corners before pulling away to win by 12s. Bach was second after resisting the mistake-prone Kristiansen’s early attacks, Poulsen’s race-long defending earned him third, and on the final lap Morsing squeezed down Pedersen’s inside at turn one for fourth. FNordic victor Kalousdian was 11th.

Marius Kristiansen departed the Nordic 4 season opener at Padborg Park last week as points leader.

It was Sebatian Bach who looked like the benchmark Formula 4 driver at first, heading Magnus Pedersen in the first practice session by 0.079 seconds while Kristiansen was in fifth and half a second off the pace.

The gaps grew in FP2, with Bach setting a 1m00.595s to lead Pedersen by 0.433s and Kristiansen by 0.697s. Mille Hoe, in the Formula 5 class for Formula Ford cars, was a further 0.036s back in fourth.

Bach remained on top in qualifying, a 59.839s lap earning him pole by 0.248s over Kristiansen. Pedersen was 0.391s off in third, and 2021 champion Mads Hoe was fourth. A second covered the top seven.

Saturday concluded with further success for Bach, as he converted pole into victory by 3.655s. The top three held their positions, Casper Nissen climbed from seventh to fourth and Mads Hoe was briefly in second after passing Pedersen mid-race but then retired.

Mads Larsen and Viktor Snebjoern Poulsen also failed to finish after a clash that required safety car intervention.

Mille Hoe started on reversed-grid pole for race two the next morning, and Alexia Danielsson tried to pass her off the line for the lead. Pedersen, from sixth, managed to swing to the inside, find room between the grass and the pole-sitter and then brake late to lead into turn one.

He quickly pulled away, with Nissen alone in second and battles further back. Bach got into third then fended off Kristiansen early on, as Mads Hoe retired again.

Kristiansen tried to go around the outside of Bach at turn one mid-race but was run off the road and dropped back. It took several laps to close back in, then an odd mistake by Bach at the final left-hander of the lap gave Kristiansen an easy way past.

He managed to hunt down Nissen and force a similar mistake out of him, but the one-and-a-half laps that remained was not enough to reel Pedersen in for the win.

Kristiansen lined up on pole for race three, and had no difficult in converting that into victory and the points lead. Mille Hoe and Jorgen Leerskov had a lap one crash that brought out the safety car, but the field were racing again by lap three.

George Sebastian Pavlopoulos spun then got beached on the restart, but only yellow flags were needed. Bach managed to squeeze past Pedersen for second on lap six, at which point Kristiansen was already way up the road.

Mads Hoe meanwhile had got up to fourth, and the F5 racer soon passed Pedersen too. Bach was overtaken in the race’s second half, but technial trouble struck a lap later and the only thing Hoe left the race with was fastest lap.

Pedersen finished third after several laps of pressure from Poulsen and Nissen. Poulsen made a great move for fourth with two laps to go, and almost got Pedersen at the finish.
