Ary Bansal was fastest in Formula Winter Series pre-event testing at Algarve, which featured several new drivers.

For this weekend Rodin Motorsport has added a fourth car for new Mclaren Formula 1 junior Ella Stevens, who will be making her single-seater racing debut. She will race for Rodin in the all-female F1 Academy championship later this year.

Oscar Repetto is out and Alexandre Louza is in at Cram Motorsport, as had been planned, and Mathilda Racing has filled its second car with Italo-Venezuelan racer Emmilio Valentino Del Grosso. He came 18th in entry-level sportscar series Ginetta Junior in 2025.

Nicolas Cortes joins Jenzer Motorsport’s line-up for the rounds at Algarve and Motorland Aragon. The 15-year-old Mexican raced for the team last year, coming fourth in Formula 4 Central European Zone and cameoing in E4 and Italian F4.

Campos Racing fielded the all-female trio of Chiara Battig, Rafela Ferreira and Alisha Palmowski in FWinter Series’ season opener at Estoril, with Batting making the podium and Palmowski claiming a pole. Only Battig remains for Algarve, and will be joined by Zoe Florescu Potolea and Leon Hedfors. Megan Bruce has also been signed, but will not race until a later round.

Florescu won the junior classification in the third edition of the FIA Women in Motorsport Commission’s Ferrari Driver Academy-affiliated Girls on Track Rising Stars programme in 2023, when the Italo-Romanian was 13 years old.

The FDA-funded karting campaign that followed in 2023 lack strong results, but on KZ2 shifter karts last year (racing under an American license) she showed improved form and came 19th in WSK’s Super Master Series and 25th in the CIK-FIA World Championship. There were also F4 test outings with multiple teams.

Hedfors, 17, hails from Sweden and his career is guided by Infinity Sports Management. He began his F4 career last November in the United Arab Emirates-based Formula Trophy, coming 22nd in the standings.

US Racing’s Bansal set the pace in the first test session on Thursday. His final lap, a 1m49.773s, put him 0.051 seconds ahead of Dries Van Langendonck (Rodin) and 0.149s clear of Roman Kamyab (US).

Rocco Coronel (Van Amersfoort Racing) was 0.462s behind in fourth, with Noah Killion (US) and Alfie Slater (Rodin) the only other drivers within a second of Bansal.

All 33 drivers improved in session two. Bansal lowered the pace to 1m46.6s, leading Olexander Savinkov (US) by 0.573s, Van Langendonck by 0.692s, Coronel by 0.731s, Arjen Kraeling (US) by 0.884s and Ludovico Busso (US) by 0.952s.

In session three, Bansal was one of only four non-improvers. Coronel set a 1m46.703s to top the timesheet, pipping Bansal and Savinkov by 0.056s. Alexander Ruta (VAR) was also within 0.1s of Coronel, and half a second covered the top eight.

Excessive track limits violations and worse conditions meant laptimes were a lot slower on Friday. Van Langendonck’s 2m03.466s on his final lap was the fastest of session four, 0.377s clear of Bansal. He topped session five with a 1m59.579s, and had a 1.244s gap to Ethan Lennon (Rodin).

Slater posted a 2m06.111s in his final lap of testing to secure top spot in session six. Van Langendonck and Lennon were 0.136s and 0.369s behind, with Coronel trailing by 0.584s. Ruta, Teodor Borenstein (Jenzer) and Bansal were also within a second of Slater’s pace.

Jenzer Motorsport has named the first two drivers in its four-car Formula Winter Series line-up, and both are single-seater debutants.

Markas Silkunas, 16, is a Lithuanian karting talent who is going to race in FWinter Series ahead of an anticipated F4 Central European Zone campaign after testing with multiple teams in 2025.

He represented his country at the 2022 Motorsport Games, was third in the 2023 FIA Karting Academy Trophy and stepped up full-time to the senior OK kart class in 2024. He was seventh in WSK’s Euro Series and 20th in its Champions Cup, a finalist in the CIK-FIA World championship and 24th in the European championship. On OK-N Senior karts he was Champions of the Future Academy Program runner-up.

He won that championship last year and leads the 2025-26 season of its Emirati counterpart, and was 24th in WSK’s Euro Series on OK karts.

Levi Arn is Jenzer’s second signing, and like the team he hails from Switzerland. The 15-year-old was the country’s national champion on KZ2 shifter karts last year, and third in the Swiss championship for OK karts in 2024.

He has also tested with multiple F4 teams through 2025, and outside of Switzerland finished 21st in the FIA Karting World Cup and 31st in the Trofeo Andrea Margutti.

Cram Motorsport has revealed the five drivers filling the four-car line-up it will be entering in the FWinter Series.

First to be announced was Andre Rodriguez, who will be racing for the Italian team in three championships, then it was confirmed Alexandre Louza would join for two FWinter Series rounds. Last year he raced on home soil in Brazil’s Formula Delta championship, which uses halo-shod cars, and was championship runner-up.

Max Kammerlander, Samuel Ifrid and Oscar Repetto will be their team-mates.

Swiss racer Kammerlander competed on X30 Senior karts last year, and came third in the Rotax Senior standings of Rotax Max Challenge Switzerland in 2024. He also has sportscar testing experience.

His countryman Ifrid finished 20th in the 2022 RMC Grand Finals in Rotax Senior, was 26th a year later and has primarily karted in Switzerland since.

Repetto joined Cram last September, contesting one E4 and one Italian Formula 4 round. He went points-free in both. Earlier in the year the Italo-Monegasque driver had come 16th in the WSK Euro Series for OK karts, and he had finished 14th in the WSK Champions Cup in 2024.

After missing last season, Rodin Motorsport will return to the FWinter Series paddock in 2026 with three cars.

US Racing’s Luka Sammalisto was fastest in both practice sessions for the Italian Formula 4 finale at Misano.

The track was very busy, with 44 drivers taking part. New GB4 champion Ary Bansal was debuting with US Racing, despite the Indian signing up to race in Saudi Arabian F4 this weekend, while Reno Francot (PHM Racing), Alexander Savinkov (R-ace GP) and Francesco Coppola (Technorace) returned to the paddock after missing rounds.

Also debuting this weekend are Oscar Repetto (Cram Motorsport), Nicolas Cortes and Florentin Hattemer (both Jenzer Motorsport) and Niccolo Maccagnani. The future Ferrari junior, who turned 15 in August, will be driving for BVM Racing which was last on the grid a year ago.

R-ace’s Andy Consani and Emanuele Olivieri were fastest at first in FP1, but the first sub-1m40s laptime did not appear until US’s Andrija Kostic set a 1m30.639s 11 minutes in.

Sammalisto was then briefly ahead before Olivieri returned to top spot, then US team-mates Kabir Anurag and Gabriel Gomez lowered the pace.

A 1m37.100s put Sammalisto back into first place, before Van Amersfoort Racing’s Maximilian Popov went on a run that included three new benchmark laptimes.

Sammalisto beat him by 0.196 seconds with seven-and-a-half minutes to go of the 44-minute session, then Gomez edged ahead by 0.006s. First place was reclaimed by Sammalisto by the same margin, with Anurag and Prema’s Sebastian Wheldon also within 0.1s of his pace.

Jenzer’s Artem Severiukhin was sixth, and Prema’s points leader Kean Nakamura Berta was 0.538s off Sammalisto in 15th. A second covered the top 22, and 88 laptimes were deleted due to track limits abuse.

Everyone set personal bests in FP2. Maffi Racing’s Kirill Kutskov was first to the top, then VAR’s Dante Vinci led the way. Sammalisto was first into the 1m37s, with VAR’s Alexander Ruta and Anurag bettering him slightly in the next two minutes.

Gomez set two laps in the 1m36s, and later Wheldon lowered the pace to 1m36.284s. His team-mate Salim Hanna Hernandez beat that by 0.01s, and seven seconds later Newman Chi went quicker than him by 0.009s to complete a Prema 1-2-3.

Wheldon went fastest by 0.227s on his next lap, and later in the session Chi set a 1m35.939s to move back ahead. He was toppled three minutes from the end, with Sammalisto going quickest by 0.242s.

Popov and Wheldon were within 0.35s of the pace, and Prema’s Andrea Dupe pipped Gomez to fifth. Kostic and Vinci were closely matched behind, but over half a second off.

There was a second between first and 22nd place again, with Maccagnani completing that group after missing FP1, and 62 laps were lost to track limits offences.

Jenzer Motorsport’s Gino Trappa became Formula 4 Central European Zone champion in the season finale at Brno.

Track action began on Friday afternoon, with free practice and qualifying. In practice, Nicolas Cortes set a 1m58.204s to pip Mathilda Paatz by 0.154 seconds. Jenzer’s title contenders Gino Trappa and Max Karhan were 0.256s and 0.302s behind in third and fourth.

Javier Herrera was fifth in practice, and rose to the top in qualifying. He claimed pole by a very narrow margin, setting a 1m58.041s to deny Cortes top spot by 0.024s and Karhan by 0.06s. Trappa was fourth, 0.116s back, and Paatz was half a second off the pace in fifth.

Race one began with four-wide action, and Karhan got into second while Kirill Kutskov (who was ineligible for points) had risen from eighth to fourth after turn one. Herrera managed a small gap over Karhan to win, and on the penultimate lap Kutskov overtook Cortes for third. Paatz was fifth and Trappa was an isolated sixth.

Andreas Lo Bue was seventh until Benett Gaspar overtook him on the penultimate lap. Lo Bue tried getting back at the next corner but locked up and spun Gaspar around, earning himself a 10s penalty that put him eighth while Gaspar finished 15th out of 20.

Those positions set race two’s grid on Sunday, and Herrera led home Karhan again in a dominant performance. Cortes lost fourth on lap one via a big crash with Hady Mimassi at turn three, putting Paatz in the position. She continually pressured Kutskov, and on lap 11 the cars behind joined in.

Teodor Borenstein had gone from 12th to seventh on lap one, and passed Trappa for fifth on lap two as David Gorcica slipped back.

A five-car train formed on lap 12, and on the last lap Borenstein passed Paatz on the outside of turn five. Trappa got her at turn five, and Gaspar did too later in the lap. Cortes fell to 14th on lap one, recovering two places on lap seven, another two on lap nine and Nicole Havrda on the last lap.

Cortes started on reversed-grid pole for race three, and was immediately passed by Kutskov and Karhan, who was 17 points behind Trappa and needed to win. Lo Bue had an off mid-lap and dropped to 14th.

Karhan tried Kutskov’s inside at turns one and three on lap three, then red flags waved on lap five due to Michalina Sabaj spinning Kiara Henni, with Igor Polak and Frantisek Nemec (who could continue) going off in avoidance.

The restart was 15 minutes later, with one lap behind the safety car. Once the field was released, Kutskov continued to hold off Karhan. Trappa finished fifth, becoming champion by nine points, and Gorcica won his duel with Gaspar for eighth.

Had he been eligible for points, Kutskov’s results from the two rounds he contested would have put him sixth in the standings.

Gino Trappa won twice at Autodrom Most last weekend to grow his Formula 4 Central European Zone points lead.

Jenzer Motorsport locked out qualifying’s top four spots, with Trappa taking pole by 0.181 seconds over Nicolas Cortes. Max Karhan and Javier Herrera were both within 0.275s of pole, and Maffi Racing’s David Walther was 0.679s behind and best of the rest in fifth. The 18-car field, a record for a round held outside of Austria, was covered by 3.929s.

Cortes made a strong start to race one and found room to squeeze down the inside of Trappa on the run to turn one. They banged wheels twice, and Cortes ran deep into the corner. He was briefly ahead, but back into second by turn two.

Exiting turn 10, Mathilda Paatz spun around the front of Walther, who then rode over her car. Several drivers went off in avoidance, and Maffi’s Teodor Borenstein crashed as he went off going past them.

The safety car was called, then on lap three red flags waved. After a 14-minute stoppage, the race restarted on lap three behind the safety car.

Green flags waved on lap five, and Herrera dived down the inside of Renauer Motorsport’s Hady Mimassi for fourth at turn one. Trappa pulled away, but the safety car returned on lap seven due to Kiara Henni getting beached in the gravel between the last two corners.

The next restart came with two laps remaining, and on the final lap Zengo Motorsport’s Benett Gaspar went around the outside of F4 CEZ Academy driver Frantisek Nemec at turn one for seventh. Trappa finished 1.457s ahead of Cortes, who got a personal-best result.

The finishing order set race two’s grid, and Trappa romped to victory by 7.961s as the top four held positions. Mimassi stuck his nose in on Herrera at the opening corner but had contact, missed turn two, lost his front wing and pitted.

His team-mate Simon Schranz missed the first turns entirely and rejoined in fifth. Nemec and Gaspar were on his tail until the latter broke his rear-left suspension at the end of lap two, then Walther passed Nemec through the turns six/seven chicane on lap five. Nemec ran off exiting the last corner and lost two more spots, with Janik Motorsport’s David Gorcica and Maffi’s Andreas Lo Bue soon starting another train behind Schranz after Walther got past him.

Race one’s top eight were reversed for race three’s grid, putting Nemec on pole. Gaspar stalled from second, and at turn one Walther and Gorcica collided. The safety car was called due to debris, and Cortes pitted due to damage.

On the lap four restart, Schranz went down the inside of Nemec but missed the opening corners. After rejoining, he dropped behing Nemec just as he was passed by Herrera.

Schranz, Karhan and Mimassi had cleared Nemec by lap-end, as Herrera sprinted off to victory. Karhan took second into turn one on lap six, Trappa secured fifth there the lap before, and Herrera was three seconds clear when the safety car and then race-ending red flags appeared due to AS Motorsport’s Michalina Sabaj crashing out.

Prema’s Sebastian Wheldon was fastest in Italian Formula 4 free practice at Monza on Friday.

Van Amersfoort Racing’s Maximilan Popov was quickest early on in FP1. His team-mate Dante Vinci was first to beat him, setting a 1m54.004s, then Jenzer Motorsport’s Artem Severiukhin brough the pace down into the 1m53s.

A minute later, PHM Racing’s Andrea Dupe posted a 1m53.634s to go fastest but was only on top for a few seconds before US Racing’s Andrija Kostic beat him by 0.065 seconds.

Vinci and team-mate Alexander Ruta lowered the pace on their next laps, then US Racing’s drivers crossed the line and the slipstream effect meant the driver at the back of the train went fastest. Gabriel Gomez was briefly in first place, then Kabir Anurag and Kostic.

The response from Vinci on his next lap was a 1m53.005s, and he provided a slipstream to Popov who recorded the first sub-1m53s lap.

His 1m52.672s benchmark stood for 20 minutes, and he had a gap of a third of a second for most of that.

Vinci eventually usurped him by 0.087s, and not long after US’s Maxim Rehm went quickest by 0.04s and Wheldon jumped up to third. He was 0.098s off the top, and on his next lap set a 1m52.260s to lead PHM’s David Cosma Cristofor by 0.277s.

Anurag improved in sixth with three minutes to go, and on the lap after set a 1m52.079s to top FP1 by 0.181s. Popov was 0.442s behind in third, ahead of Cosma, Rehm and his team-mate Luka Sammalisto. The top 23 were covered by a second, and Alex Powell was the highest placed of R-ace GP’s drivers in 20th.

There was a single red flag stoppage, and two very early ones in FP2 which had far fewer changes at the top of the timesheet.

Rehm laid down a 1m54.823s as the time to beat at first, and AS Motorsport’s Phil Colin Strenge surprised by being the driver to beat it. Red flags waved shortly after, and once the session was restarted Popov went by 0.911s at the top with a 1m53.623s lap.

Prema’s Sasha Bondarev and Salim Hanna Hernandez swiftly bettered him, with Hanna setting a 1m52.748s, and on his next lap Wheldon improved to 1m52.24s.

It was not until 16 minutes later that he was beaten, as Popov posted a 1m51.933s. Wheldon responded, reclaiming first place by 0.278s.

His gap was swiftly cut to 0.127s by Hanna, and behind Popov were Bondarev and Gomez.

Anurag was 1.074s off the pace in 18th, and one of 15 drivers not to improve on their FP1 personal bests. He concluded practice in sixth overall, and R-ace’s pace struggles continued as Emanuele Oliveri ended up as their top driver in 17th.

Maffi Racing’s David Walther set identical personal bests in both sessions.

There were two additions to the grid this weekend, as Jenzer brings Javier Herrera across from its F4 Central European Zone line-up and Cram Motorsport has signed Andre Rodrigues for a part-time campaign.

Jenzer Motorsport’s Max Karhan won twice in Formula 4 Central European Zone round three at the Salzburgring.

His team-mate Gino Trappa set a 1m21.809s to lead practice by 0.397 seconds, with Maffi Racing’s David Walther 0.241s behind Karhan in third.

In qualifying Trappa improved to 1m21.749s for pole, beating Karhan by 0.303s, as Nicolas Cortes and Javier Herrera completed a Jenzer 1-2-3-4.

Mathilda Paatz stalled on race one’s formation lap so had to start from the pitlane rather than sixth, but recovered to eighth as Karhan won.

Trappa held the lead at first, and on lap three Karhan stuck to the outside through the banked corners to then have the inside for the turn 13 braking zone where he could move ahead.

He mainted a small gap thereon until the safety car appeared on lap 12. Andreas Lo Bue had managed to overtake team-mate Walther into turn 11 the previous lap, with Walther then locking up and running Janik Motorsport’s David Gorcica off and into the barriers at turn 13.

Racing resumed on lap 15 of 17 and Trappa attacked Karhan twice. Walther dropped to eighth, then a five-second penalty demoted him to 12th.

The results set race two’s starting order, and Karhan led Trappa into turn one. Trappa got alongside at turn 10, but Karhan went deep into turn 12 to stay ahead. Cortes in fourth locked up at turn 12 on laps two, three, five and six, and Renauer Motorsport’s Simon Schranz drove off-track at turn nine on lap four to try to get past him.

He was alongside again at turn 12 on that lap, while Paatz tried passing him on lap six. Paatz got ahead in the esses on lap eight, but then Schranz ran deep into turn 10 to nose back in front.

Hunting them was Walther, who went around the outside of Paatz at turn 11 on lap 10, then gained a spot on lap 13 as Schranz overtook Cortes in the esses before Cortes had another lock-up and a huge shunt at turn 11.

One lap of racing remainedn after a safety car period. Schranz overtook Herrera for third around the outside of turn one, and Herrera spun after contact exiting turn two. Walther then pressured Schranz for third, as Karhan won again.

Herrera started on pole for race three, and Cortes braked late into turn one to nab the lead as Herrera then went off. Trappa claimed first place at turn five, and at turn 10 Cortes got loose so Herrera returned to second despite a big lock-up.

Lap two began with Trappa locking up at turn one, and Schranz managed to pull off an around the outside pass on Cortes at turn 10. Cortes cut the opening corners on lap three to reclaim third, and Karhan demoted Schranz at turn five. Up front, Herrera took the lead but Trappa regained it exiting turn 14.

It was briefly a 10-car train, before Trappa pulled away. Karhan and Cortes swappled places on laps five and six, and others got involved. Herrera exited the fight after picking up damage through a turn one off, but Karhan got alonside Cortes a few times before their fight was ended by red flags after Maffi’s Teodor Borenstein had a huge crash.

Gino Trappa and David Walther shared the wins as the Formula 4 Central European Zone championship made its second visit of 2025 to the Red Bull Ring.

Trappa pipped his Jenzer Motorsport team-mate Max Karhan to pole at the end of qualifying by 0.041 seconds. Walther was third, ahead of Renauer Motorsport’s Formula Regional-experienced William Karlsson on his championship debut.

The session was red flagged twice, and spinner Kiara Henni had to miss race one. Karhan made a slow start to that race, losing out to Walther exiting the opening corner and dropping further to fifth on the uphill run to turn three.

Trappa retained his position at the front of the 17-car field, and built a gap as Walther and Karlsson then battled.

Once free of his Swedish rival, Walther set fastest lap after fastest lap to close onto the tail of Trappa but was denied the chance to fight for victory due to race-ending red flags. In the midfield, Javier Cortes had pitched Jenzer team-mate Javier Herrera onto his side on the pit straight. Fortunately, neither driver was injured.

Trappa won, and a five-second penalty for contact with Karhan demoted Walther to third.

There was a dramatic start to race two. Karlsson beat polesitter Trappa into turn one, as Karhan was again slow away from the second row. Behind them, Renauer Motorsport’s Simon Schranz stalled, and Nikolaj Dyrved and Michalina Sabaj collided as they took avoiding action. With the pit straight blocked, red flags waved.

After a 30-minute delay, the race restarted with two laps behind the safety car. When green flags returned, Karlsson came under pressure from Trappa into turn three. Trappa dived to the inside to pass him but it opened the door for Walther and Mathilda Paatz to get through.

As Walther made a break at the front, there was a thrilling five-car battle for second, with positions constantly swapping between Karlsson, Trappa, Paatz, Hady Mimassi and a recovering Karhan.

The safety car returned with eight minutes remaining due to debris on the track, erasing the gaps that Walther and then Karlsson had built.

Walther managed the restart without drama to win, with Trappa closing onto the tail of third-placed Mimassi at the finish.

Paatz led away from reversed-grid pole in race three, although Trappa was up to third from sixth on the grid by the end of lap one. The safety car was soon out after a lap two incident between Teodor Borenstein and Romuald Bocquet.

When racing resumed, Trappa was on the attack straight away, passing Karhan for second before the duo then had to defend against Mimassi.

Paatz maintained a strong pace up front, so Trappa slowly narrowed her gap. He took the lead on lap 11, and privateer Paatz held onto second. Karhan was third, and Mimassi took fourth from Walther.

Jenzer’s Bart Harrison had led the points after the opening round at the Red Bull Ring, but was absent from round two as he focuses on Italian F4. Trappa now leads the championship by 41 points from Walther.

Formula 4 Central European Zone’s season got underway at the Red Bull Ring with a 21-car field.

Drivers learned the track in a session on Friday, and Jenzer Motorsport’s Bart Harrison led Real Racing Team’s Luca Viisoreanu by a third of a second. Jenzer’s Javier Herrera was over half a second behind in third.

Harrison remained on top in qualifying on Saturday morning, setting a 1m32.156s to beat team-mate Gino Trappa to race one pole by 0.313 seconds. Viisoreanu was 0.422s back, and AS Motorsport’s Chase Fernandez beat Herrera to fourth.

Trappa made a very slow start to race one, and Fernandez slid down the inside of him at turn one as Harrison held onto the lead. There was a clash between Renauer Motorsport’s drivers, with Simon Schranz eliminated immediately while Hady Mimassi retired in the pits. Mathilda Paatz pitted too for a new front wing.

Varying levels of confidence under braking meant many passes through the first few corners before the safety car appeared.

Racing resumed on lap five, and Fernandez was right behind Harrison before darting to the outside at turn one and getting ahead, albeit off-track. Harrison moved back past on the inside at turn three as Fernandez exceeded track limits again.

Trappa went down the inside of Fernandez at turn four, and Harrison pulled away. He won the 15-lap race by 8.56s. Fernandez was a further 0.626s back.

Viisoreanu was fourth, a position he had to recover after falling to sixth on lap six following a lock-up while battling with Herrera. Jenzer’s Max Karhan and Nico Cortes were sixth and seventh, and Zengo Motorsport’s Benett Gaspar won a lengthy multi-car battle for 11th.

The results set the grid for race two on Sunday, and Fernandez again made a better start than Trappa. The inside line meant Trappa could hold him off at turns one and three, where Harrison went off but remained ahead.

Viisoreanu overtook Fernandez at turn four, and although he got back past down the inside at the penultimate corner they both then went off. By lap three the safety car was out, with Fernandez, Paatz, Schranz and Viisoreanu having retired.

Racing resumed on lap four, and Harrison kept Trappa a comfortable distance behind thereon to win.

Herrera was third until he began battling with Maffi Racing’s David Walther mid-race. They traded places multiple times, then Herrera dropped two wheels into the gravel at turn four. His team-mate Teo Schropp went past and had a similar fight with Walther, but could not get past.

After further offs and more fighting, Herrera finished sixth behind Karhan. Mimassi held off Cortes until the final lap when both he and Maffi’s Teodor Borenstein got past.

Rain fell before race three, which the slick-shod Viisoreanu had pole for. Fernandez started alongside on wet tyres.

Fernandez stalled as the safety car led the field away, and after being wheeled into the pits he rejoined a lap down. Herrera pitted for slicks at the end of lap one, and Frantisek Nemec crashed late in lap two.

The field was set free, and Viisoreanu lost three places into turn one. He dropped three exiting it, as the safety car returned. Walther pitted at the end of the lap for a new front wing and slicks, but his new wing got broken so he required another.

Racing resumed on lap six, with Trappa leading Harrison, Karhan, Viisoreanu and Cortes. It was wet at turn three but dry everywhere else, and on lap seven Viisoreanu picked off the cars ahead to take the lead.

Borenstein crashed and the safety car was needed again, then in the two laps left of racing (after the wet-shod runners had tried cooling their tyres) Viisoreanu ran away, Trappa established himself in second and most other positions were decided in three-wide fights.

Harrison took third by 0.033s over Karthan, with Herrera and Mimassi within 0.066s of the podium 0.023s as Cortes beat Walther to seventh by 0.004s.

Jenzer Motorsport has announced a four-car line-up for the upcoming Formula Winter Series in Iberia.

The Swiss team has signed Enea Frey, Bart Harrison, Alba Hurup Larsen and Artem Severeiukhin, a quartet with a range of experience.

Frey’s father raced for Jenzer in Formula Ford in the 1990s, and he joined the team for his single-seater debut last year afyer coming 14th in the CIK-FIA World championship for OK karts and ninth in the WSK Final Cup and 10th in the WSK Euro Series for OK Junior karts in 2023.

In his rookie year of single-seater racing he came 25th in FWinter Series, then was 15th in Formula 4 Central European Zone, 16th in Italian F4 and 17th in E4 (nee Euro 4). The 16-year-old’s best results, two fourth places, came in his F4 CEZ cameo.

Harrison, 17, is also a single-seater sophomore who has already worked with Jenzer as he drove for the team in the 2024 Italian F4 finale. He kicked off his year by coming 42nd in FWinter Series with Rodin Motorsport, then joined Chris Dittmann Racing in British F4 and came 20th in the standings with three sixth places his best results.

Larsen is using FWinter Series to prepare for her F1 Academy season with MP Motorsport. The 16-year-old won the senior final of the FIA Women in Motorsport Commission’s Ferrari Driver Academy-affiliated Girls on Track Rising Stars programme in 2023, then came 18th in Indian F4 last year after contesting the first two rounds. She will miss one of FWinter Series’ four rounds.

The oldest but least experience driver in Jenzer’s line-up is the 18-year-old Severiukhin.

The Russian’s career hit a high and then a low in swift succession in April 2022 as he won the opening round of the CIK-FIA European championship for OK karts at Algarve but then made an alleged Nazi salute on the podium and was promptly disqualified from the event and was dropped by the Ward Racing team.

He returned to action nine months later on KZ2 shifter karts, coming seventh in the WSK Champions Cup, 14th in the European championship and 21st in the WSK Final Cup in 2023, then third in Champions of the Future, fourth in the FIA Karting World Cup, ninth in WSK SMS and 14th in WSK CC in 2024. Just over a year ago he also topped an Italian F4 test.
