Arden has announced it will return to GB3 in 2026, with Leon Wilson named as its first driver.

The Banbury-based team took wins when it joined GB3 in 2021, and a three-year collaboration with American outfit Velocity Racing Development yielded six more wins before VRD went solo this year. Arden still competed in GB4.

Wilson was a member of the Arden-affiliated Young Racing Driver Academy before stepping up to GB4 with the team in 2024, taking one podium and coming 10th in the standings as a car racing rookie.

He improved to seventh in the points this year, winning at Snetterton and Donington Park, and has already begun testing in one of Arden’s recently-acquired Tatuus MSV GB3-025 cars.

“I’m massively excited to be stepping up to GB3 next season, and to be doing so with Arden,” said Wilson.

“This team has been such an important part of my career development up to now, so when they confirmed their plans to move back up to GB3 next year, I immediately knew where I wanted to race in 2026.

“It’s a big step up, but I’ve really enjoyed the testing we’ve done together so far, and I’m looking forward to more seat time over the next few months.”

Having entered a single car for Wilson in GB4 last year, Arden also ran fellow YRDA graduate Dudley Ruddock and Ava Dobson in an expanded three-car line-up during 2025.

It has previously competed at multiple levels of the junior single-seater ladder, including Formula 2, and will return to international competition by joining GB3 as its calendar expands further into Europe from its base in Britain.

“We’re very pleased to be stepping back up to GB3 next year, and to confirm Leon as our first driver,” said Arden team principal Garry Horner.

“As we grew our GB4 operations, we wanted to ensure our drivers had an option with us to continue their development, and GB3 is obviously the perfect fit. We’ve had a lot of success in various iterations in GB3 previously, and we’ll be doing everything we can to ensure this continues when we return in 2026.”

Arden’s Leon Wilson won an epic second GB4 contest at Donington Park in which all three title contenders were penalised.

Elite Motorsport’s Isaac Phelps had looked set to complete an important comeback victory after initially making a slow start from pole, but he was denied by a five-second penalty at the chequered flag for exceeding track limits.

That handed Wilson his second GB4 victory ahead of Phelps, who reclaimed second in the standings while his team-mate and title rival Ary Bansal’s own recovery drive was undone by two track limits penalties.

Hillspeed’s Daniel Guinchard also lost ground due to both a late clash with Bansal and three track limits penalties that left him a points-free 21st and meant he dropped from first to third in the standings. Bansal, despite finishing ninth, moved to the top of the points table.

Guinchard had started fifth following a three-place grid penalty for colliding with Phelps in race one, and he held the position once the lights went out.

Phelps slipped to third behind Wilson and Leandro Juncos, while Bansal produced a stunning early charge up the order from seventh.

The Indian swept around the outside of Guinchard into Macleans for fifth, outbraked Alex O’Grady into Fogarty, and almost snatched third before lap one was completed when Phelps locked up and ran wide at Melbourne hairpin.

The Elite duo continued to lock horns on lap two, allowing Guinchard – who had dispatched O’Grady –  to join the battle. Having remained ahead, Phelps eventually pulled clear of his two title rivals by moving ahead of Juncos into second.

He caught Wilson with six minutes of the race remaining, and after making several overtaking attempts he eventually prevailed around the outside of Macleans to take the lead.

Phelps’ penalty was announced on the final lap, and his 2.2s gap to Wilson at the finish was not enough to keep hold of victory.

Having prevailed in a frenetic three-way battle with Juncos, Guinchard and Bansal almost collided as they diced over third. Guinchard tried to make a move exiting Old Hairpin on the final lap, but as Bansal moved across to defend he ended up on the grass and lost out to Juncos, O’Grady and Thomas Ingram Hill.

Bansal took the chequered flag in third, but was demoted six places after all penalties were applied. Juncos had second before he too was penalised, while ADM’s Jason Pribyl was eighth on-the-road but was eventually made runner-up.

O’Grady, Ingram Hill and Douglas Motorsport’s Lucas Blakeley were all also penalised, bringing Pace Performance’s Stefan Bostandjiev up to third ahead of Arden’s Ava Dobson.

Alex Kattoulas finished 11th after going off the road while battling Pribyl early on, and his own penalty meant he was only promoted to eighth, and race one winner Dayton Coulthard recovered from an early pitstop to be classified 13th.

Arden’s Leon Wilson climbed from third on the reversed grid to win a disrupted final GB4 race of the weekend at Snetterton.

Wilson won a shortened contest ahead of Fortec Motorsports’ Jack Taylor and Graham Brunton Racing’s Alex Berg, while title contender Ary Bansal retired in an opening lap incident.

There was a delay to the start after GBR’s Callum Baxter ground to a halt with a technical issue on the formation lap.

Wilson swept around the outside of Berg for second once the race got underway, and then dived down the inside Taylor for the lead at the hairpin.

Having started from 12th, Elite Motorsport’s Bansal retired at Oggies with suspension damage after being collected by Luke Hilton, who was forced to pit for a front wing change at the end of lap one. Hilton’s Douglas Motorsport team-mate Dayton Coulthard also lost ground after driving off the road to avoid the melee.

Following a lengthy safety car period to recover Bansal’s stricken car, the race resumed with four minutes left on the clock.

Wilson remained ahead at the restart and controlled the final three laps to take victory by 0.5 seconds. Taylor resisted a last-lap challenge from Berg, with the pair scoring their second podiums of the season.

Taylor’s team-mate Thomas Ingram Hill moved ahead of Douglas Motorsport’s Enzo Hallman for fourth at the start, and maintained position until the finish for his best result so far.

Hillspeed’s Daniel Guinchard made up three places to sixth on lap one, but was quickly dispatched into the hairpin following the restart by Pace Performance’s Leandro Juncos, who then passed Hallman into Brundle on his way to fifth.

Guinchard tried to pass Hallman on the final tour but then had to defend against Alex Kattoulas. He remained seventh at the flag to extend his championship lead over Bansal to 36 points.

Isaac Phelps maintained third in the standings by coming home 0.5s behind his Elite team-mate Kattoulas in ninth. KMR Sport’s Alex O’Grady lost out to Phelps in the closing stages and finished 10th, while his team-mate Lily Watkins was another to retire.

GB4 enters a new era this weekend at Donington Park, with its updated car attracting a record 25-strong grid

Since its creation in 2022, GB4 has used Tatuus’s first-generation Formula 4 car from 2014 to provide drivers with a more affordable route into single-seaters compared to other F4 championships, but grid numbers have been modest.

Entries have almost doubled in number this year, thanks to the introduction of the halo-shod Tatuus MSV GB4-025 car. It’s a modified version of parent series GB3’s outgoing chassis, and has spiked interest to where GB4 is now rivalling British F4.

The car has been detuned to F4 specification, meaning less horsepower and more simplified aero, and the side-mounted air intake has been removed. Its limited slip differential and two-litre normally-aspirated engine are different from the outgoing machine, and teams and drivers believe this gives them a more ‘raceable’ car.

“It’s cost-effective,” says Wayne Douglas, whose Douglas Motorsport outfit has entered GB4 for the first time after winning multiple races in GB3. “It’s nothing against the turbo engine, but you definitely have equalisation [without it] just because there’s less stuff to control. It’s a great little package, ideal for the kids, there’s a few more set-up changes than [other] F4 cars so they learn a little bit. The concept is the same, roughly the same weight, same horsepower, so it’s an equal car.”

There is again a seven-event calendar, with three races per weekend. There is a change to the format of race three at each event, as the top 12 from qualifying will be reversed to form the grid. Previously a fully-reversed grid was used. The season starts and concludes at Donington Park, with the other rounds at Oulton Park, Snetterton, Brands Hatch and Silverstone. The full Grand Prix layout will be used at the last two, and Silverstone will be visited twice.

This year’s champion will receive a £50,000 prize, qualifying on pole earns a driver £125 and a further £1,000 will go to the driver who accumulates the most poles. The highest-placed female driver in the points table will be awarded a €50,000 contribution (an increase from 2024’s fund of €30,000) towards a 2026 F1 Academy drive.

2024:2nd in United FFord, 19th in FFord Festival, 19th in Walter Hayes Trophy

The American shone in his first year racing in the UK by coming second in United FFord championship with two victories and three other podiums. He was also 19th in both of FFord’s marquee events: the FFord Festival and Walter Hayes Trophy. He only appeared in half of GB4’s pre-season test days, so may face an early learning curve early adapting to slicks-and-wings.

Having competed at every tier of single-seaters bar the top one, Arden fields a two-car line-up at the entry level this year.

5. Ava Dobson USA, 16
2024: 17th in GB4, 31st in USF Juniors

After competing in three different championships in her homeland in 2023, Dobson’s 2024 campaign in USF Juniors was cut short after being injured in a high-speed collision at Barber Motorsports Park. She was back behind the wheel later in the year in GB4 for her UK racing debut, and she now returns to the series for her first full season.

Wilson has come through the ranks at Arden, having been part of its Young Racing Driver Academy prior to moving into car racing with the team in GB4 last year. He took a podium and two fastest laps, and will be looking to build on that this term.

The race-winning GB3 outfit is embarking on a slightly different challenge in GB4 and is committing to it with three cars.

7. Enzo Hallman Sweden, 17
2024: 2nd in FNordic, 3rd in NXT Gen Cup

A promising rookie single-seater campaign in Formula Nordic, where he was runner-up in the points with five victories despite missing the first two rounds, helped him win the prestigious Ronnie Peterson Memorial Foundation scholarship in his homeland. While he hasn’t got as much testing mileage under his belt as others, he could be one to watch.

2024: Karting

One of three sons of ex-Formula 1 drivers in GB4, Coulthard makes his car racing debut as a graduate of the UK’s kart scene.

2024: 5th in Radical Cup UK, 7th in Gulf Radical Cup

Although he is new to single-seaters, Hilton already has three years of car racing experience behind him. He won multiple races in the BRSCC’s Ford Fiesta Junior championship, as well as in Radical sportscars in both the UK and United Arab Emirates. His test-topping form at Silverstone last month suggests he will be a victory contender.

Elite Motorsport

The front-running team that steered Alisha Palmowski to championship runner-up spot in 2024 look set to be in good shape again this season with a strong three-car line-up.

35. Isaac Phelps England, 15
2024: 5th in Ginetta Junior, Ginetta Junior Winter Series champion

Showed promise upon graduating from karting last year with five wins across Ginetta Junior’s main and winter series, and he took the title in the latter. Having topped GB4’s first test day with its new car at Silverstone, it looks like he’ll be in the mix.

46. Aryaman Bansal India, 15
2024: 14th in FTrophy UAE, NC in Spanish F4

The Bangalorean is relatively new to car racing, having made his debut at the 2024 Spanish F4 finale and then contested the UAE’s two-round Formula Trophy for F4 cars. Prior to that he spent two years competing in British Karting Championship events, and has looked close to the pace straight away in a GB4 car.

51. Alexandros Kattoulas Japan/Greece, 19
2024: 32nd in GB3

Has plenty of pedigree from his karting career, where he competed against three of this year’s F1 rookies. He stepped away from racing at the end of 2018 before returning to make his debut in cars at Donington Park last year in GB3. Kattoulas is another likely victory contender in GB4, having topped eight pre-season test sessions.

Fortec Motorsports

Linus Granfors added another title to Fortec’s long list of single-seater honours by becoming 2024 GB4 champion, and this season there is a mixture of experience among its drivers.

2024: 11th in Ginetta Junior

Making his single-seater debut this weekend, having started out in karting and scored nine top-10 finishes during his rookie car racing campaign in Ginetta Junior last year.

Returning to GB4 for a full season in 2025, he is aiming to be frontrunner this time around.

Remains with GBR for his sophomore season, having scored two podiums and also raced for the team at the FFord Festival as a Team Canada scholar in 2024. Prior to that he was Toyo Tires F1600 championship runner-up in Canada, winning on the F1 support bill in Montreal.

2024: 14th in British F4

The son of 1986 Osella F1 driver Allen Berg has also represented GBR and the Team Canada Scholarship in FFord, reaching the final at both the FFord Festival and WHT in 2023. Last year he headed to slicks-and-wings via British F4 and scored one win, and that experience should stand him in good stead despite his lack of pre-season testing in GB4’s new car.

Having made a name for itself in GB3, Hillspeed is returning to GB4 after being a title contender in the inaugural season.

49. Daniel Guinchard England, 18

The former Mercedes-AMG F1 junior is making a welcome return to racing, having last competed in 2023 when he drove in British F4. Budget issues meant an early end to that campaign, and he was a race-winner in the championship the year before. His experience should make him a victory contender in GB4 despite limited pre-season running.

2024: 19th in USF Juniors

He only began racing last year, and chose IndyCar feeder series USF Juniors for his first steps. He did four rounds and netted a best result of fourth at Barber. Since then he has driven in GB3 testing with Chris Dittmann Racing, before deciding to race in GB4. Has also worked as an assistant engineer for his father’s IndyCar team Juncos Hollinger Racing.

KMR Sport

Kevin Mills’s reigning three-time champion team will want further success, but with origins in FFord this new car leaves more to learn for the team than rivals with experience of higher categories.

3. Alex O’Grady Ireland, 16
2024: 12th in French F4

Took two podium finishes in French F4 as a rookie fresh from karting. Will be hoping to run at the sharp end of the field despite less pre-season testing than his team-mates.

2024: 11th in GB4, 11th in Caterham 270R championship

Has switched from Fox for her sophomore campaign, having scored a best result of sixth as a rookie while also shining with multiple podium finishes in Caterham sportscars. Her testing form pre-season suggests she is set for improved results in 2025, and is also one of the leading contenders for the F1 Academy prize.

15. Lily-May Watkins England, 17
2024: Karting

One of the most inexperienced drivers on the grid having mainly competed in indoor karting until now. Her time spent in the YRDA and a full GB4 testing programme over winter in both last year’s car and the new machine have helped her make significant progress ahead of her car racing debut.

Pace Performance

The Ginetta Junior outfit is expanding into GB4 this year, and has had help behind the wheel from F2 race-winner and current Super Formula racer Zak O’Sullivan in testing as it prepares to tackle single-seater racing for the first time.

17. Stefan Bostandjiev Bulgaria, 20
2024: Italian GT Sprint Championship, 7th in Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe – Pro

The Iron Lynx sports car racer has chosen to switch disciplines, and like his team is making his open-wheel debut this weekend. He will compete part-time in GB4 this season alongside a full GB3 campaign with Fortec Motorsports.

2024: Ginetta GT Championship

After bringing a decorated karting career to a halt in 2019, McLean is making a full-time return to racing in GB4, where he will make his single-seater debut. He already has three car racing starts under his belt, having scored a best result of sixth during a cameo in the Ginetta GT Championship at Donington Park last year.

Rossoverde Scorpio Racing

Rossoverde Racing, which has competed part-time in GB4 since its inception, has joined forces with one-time GB4 entrant Scorpio Motorsport for a full-time assault.

GB4’s reigning three-time teams’ champions KMR Sport has completed its 2025 line-up with the signing of Alex O’Grady and Lily-May Watkins.

O’Grady was a FEED Racing France shootout finalist in 2023, and despite missing out on a free seat still progressed into French Formula 4 last year. He came 12th in the standings as a rookie, making the podium twice.

Prior to that, the 16-year-old Irishman spent several years in karting and finished sixth in the IAME Warriors Final for X30 Junior karts at Le Mans in 2022. 

“I’m very happy to be joining KMR Sport for the 2025 GB4 season,” O’Grady said. “Being multiple team champions, they are clearly a top team with good material and proven success. There will still be lots to learn for me, coming into the season with limited track time, however I’m confident that I can adapt quickly and learn.”

Watkins will be making her first car racing starts at next month’s Donington Park season-opener, and has taken part in both pre-season tests so far at Snetterton at Oulton Park. The 17-year-old has competed in karting across the United Kingdom since 2019 and has been a member of Arden’s Young Racing Driver Academy.

“I’m very excited to be making the step into GB4 with KMR for the 2025 season,” said Watkins. “I am looking forward to being part of such a successful but also welcoming team, and I’m eager to bring my best for them.

“The prospect of competing at this level and being part of a welcoming and inclusive category is something I have only dreamed of. I am excited to continue building across pre-season testing, learn from my teammates, and be ready for round one in a few weeks.”

Another to confirm her place on the grid after taking part in pre-season testing is Ava Dobson, who is returning to GB4 with Arden. The 16-year-old American took part in two rounds last season with Velocity Racing Development – Arden’s partner team – and scored a best result of ninth place at Silverstone.

Those appearances were her first since her USF Juniors season was cut short by injury following a high-speed collision at Barber Motorsports Park. In 2023 she raced in three different single-seater championships in the United States, contesting selected events in Formula 4, USF Juniors and USF2000 with Jay Howard Driver Development.

“Racing with Arden last year was such an incredible experience, and I’m beyond excited to be back with them for a full GB4 season,” said Dobson. “I learned so much in the rounds I competed in, and I can’t wait to build on that, work with the team, and fight for strong results this year!”

Watkins and Dobson are among a quartet of drivers in contention for an increased €50,000 prize contribution towards a 2026 F1 Academy drive for being the top female in this year’s GB4 standings. Last year’s recipient and overall GB4 runner-up Alisha Palmowski netted €30,000 towards her 2025 F1 Academy seat with Campos Racing.

Arden’s Leon Wilson continued to set the pace on the second day of GB4 pre-season testing at Snetterton.

Wilson set a best lap of 1m48.522s in the fourth and final session of Thursday to eclipse his quickest time from Wednesday by 0.006 seconds. Isaac Phelps was again second fastest ahead of Alex Kattoulas and Aryaman Bansal, the Elite Motorsport trio split by 0.034s.

Kattoulas led for most of the opening session courtesy of a 1m49.147s lap, and was on top by 0.039s over Wilson when the chequered flag waved to end proceedings. Bansal edged Phelps and Douglas Motorsport’s Luke Hilton to third.

Hilton’s team-mate Dayton Coulthard set the benchmark laptime of session two – a 1m49.688s – and there was just 0.15s covering himself, Phelps, Kattoulas, Graham Brunton Racing’s Mayer Deonarine and Wilson.

Bansal was the first driver of the day to lap sub-1m49s in session three, posting a 1m48.851s with less than 10 minutes remaining to end up 0.403s clear of Deonarine, while an undisclosed driver was third for Douglas ahead of Coulthard and KMR Sport’s Megan Bruce.

Wilson lowered the pace to a 1m48.777s in session four, and then improved by a further 0.2s to secure his place at the top of the test’s overall timesheet. Phelps also improved in session four to end the days 0.295s shy of Wilson, as did Kattoulas, but neither improved on their personal bests from day one. Deonarine ended testing one place behind Bansal in fifth, the pair setting their best times in session three of Thursday.

Coulthard and Bruce’s session three efforts left them seventh and eighth overall, and Hilton improved in session four to be ninth, with just 0.004s separating the trio.  Fortec Motorsports’ Jack Taylor was 10th ahead of Velocity Racing Development’s Ava Dobson, and Taylor’s team-mate Luca Magnussen improved significantly from day one to end testing 1.4s shy of the pace in 12th.

Arden’s Leon Wilson was quickest at Snetterton on Wednesday in the first day of pre-season testing for GB4.

Wilson was fastest in two of four sessions, setting his best time in the third of those to end the day 0.183 seconds clear at the top.

Second fastest was Ginetta Junior Winter Series champion Isaac Phelps, who was testing for Elite Motorsport and has not yet announced his racing plans for 2025. Elite’s confirmed drivers, Alex Kattoulas and Aryaman Bansal, were close behind Phelps in third and fourth. 

Bansal announced his GB4 programme last week, the 15-year-old from Bangalore having competed in the British Karting Championship for the last two years and made his single-seater debut in the final round of Spanish Formula 4 last season at Barcelona with Rodin Motorsport.

Wilson led the Elite trio by over 0.6s in the opening session with a 1m49.627s. In session two, Bansal reduced that gap in 0.058s, set a new benchmark of 1m49.108s on his next lap and then further improved to a 1m49.026s to end the morning’s running 0.344s ahead of Kattoulas.

Bansal’s quickest lap wasn’t beaten until the closing stages of session three, when Wilson posted a 1m48.528s to be fastest once more. Douglas Motorsport filled three of the top five positions in that session, with an undisclosed driver second, Luke Hilton third and Dayton Coulthard fifth behind Kattoulas.

Phelps set a personal best to top session four and move up to second in the overall classification ahead of Kattoulas and Bansal who both also improved their times. Hilton and KMR Sport’s Megan Bruce both set their best times in session four to end the day in fifth and sixth respectively.

Bruce recently confirmed she has switched to the reigning three-time champion team after finishing 11th in the standings in her rookie single-seater season last year with Fox Motorsport, taking a best result of sixth at Snetterton. She also came 11th in the Caterham 270R championship in 2024, accumulating multiple podiums.

Mayer Deonarine will join Wilson and Bruce as a GB4 sophomore this year, and he was one place behind Coulthard in ninth during Wednesday’s test action, having posted his best lap in session two.

The 15-year-old has confirmed a return to Graham Brunton Racing for a full campaign after competing in the first three GB4 rounds in 2024 and just missing out on a podium in his final outing at Donington Park. After that he switched focus to the Radical North America Cup, where he won multiple races in the Pro 1340 class, including a triple triumph on the IndyCar support bill in Toronto.

Rounding out the top 10 was Ava Dobson, who contested two rounds last year with Velocity Racing Development and was testing for its partner team Arden. She has not announced her racing plans for 2025 yet.

The Magnussen name will return to the British junior single-seater scene this year, with karting graduate Luca Magnussen completing Fortec Motorsports’ GB4 line-up.

Magnussen, who is the son of sportscar ace and ex-Formula 1 driver Jan, has competed in karts since 2021. The 15-year-old started out in the Sydsvenskans Kart Champion Cup (SKCC) before stepping up to X30 and OK Junior karts as well as selected events in the FIA Karting World and European championships in 2023.

Having raced in both ROK Cup Italy and the Danish Karting League in 2024, he then represented Denmark in karting at the FIA Motorsport Games in Valencia last October.

“I’m incredibly happy to take the next step in my career and proud to team up with such a renowned and experienced team like Fortec Motorsports,” said Magnussen, who will race alongside GB4 sophomore Jack Taylor and Ginetta Junior graduate Thomas Ingram Hill.

“The team has already given me a warm welcome, and now I’m just excited to get started and show what I can do. A year full of big challenges and even more competition awaits me. A huge thank you to all my sponsors and to my family, who have supported me all the way.”

He will be third member of the Magnussen family to compete in a British single-seater series. His father famously won the 1994 British Formula 3 championship in dominant style with a record-breaking 14 victories from 18 starts. Older half-brother Kevin was also runner-up in British F3 in 2011 with seven wins prior to his two spells in F1 spanning more than a decade.

“We are thrilled to welcome Luca Magnussen to our team for the GB4 Championship in 2025,” added Fortec’s team principal Oliver Dutton. “Luca has shown incredible potential during his karting career and particularly impressed us during his test at Donington Park.

“His dedication and skill make him a valuable addition to our line-up, and we are confident he will make significant strides this season.”

Arden, meanwhile, has confirmed that Leon Wilson will remain with the team for a second season. The 17-year-old, who has been part of Arden’s Young Racing Driver Academy for the last few years, finished 10th in the standings in 2024 with one podium finish to his name.

“It’s been an incredible journey for me so far, with Arden Motorsport and their Young Racing Driver’s Academy, ” said Wilson “Not coming from a racing background, and having little previous racing experience, it’s been a steep learning curve for me.

“We entered last year’s championship a year ahead of expectations; we had plenty of highs, some lows and also learnt a few lessons with advice from MSV in both pre- and post-race situations, but the overall experience will stand me in good stead for this year’s championship.”

“The YRDA SIM training and Arden support in and out of the car during the off-season has prepared me well for the upcoming championship in the new GB4 car. The new car looks amazing and I am eager to undertake some on-track pre-season testing.”

Louis Sharp became GB3 champion in the final race of the season at Brands Hatch, as Nikita Johnson took his second victory.

Needing to finish 11th or higher in the reversed-grid race to guarantee himself the crown, Rodin Motosport driver Sharp did enough by finishing 10th, one place behind title rival John Bennett.

Velocity Racing Development by Arden’s Johnson lined up on pole, and led into Paddock Hill Bend ahead of Rodin duo Callum Voisin and Arthur Rogeon.

The safety car was immediately deployed due to a tangle further down the field approaching turn one, with VRD’s Noah Ping spinning out after contact with his team-mate Shawn Rashid, while Elite Motorsport’s Hugo Schwarze spun into retirement at Druids after suffering a rear-left puncture.

Voisin challenged Johnson into Surtees and Hawthorn when racing resumed on lap three, and the outgoing champion continued to apply pressure over the next few laps.

Rogeon tried to join in on the battle, having a look up the inside of Voisin into Stirling’s, but the Frenchman eventually faded.

Johnson resisted the pressure until the finish to edge Voisin for his second reversed-grid triumph of the season.

Hitech GP’s Will Macintyre passed JHR Developments’ Patrick Heuzenroeder for fifth into Paddock Hill Bend at the safety car restart before challenging Elite’s Jarrod Waberski.

The pair went side-by-side at one stage through Hawthorn and Westfield, but Waberski held on to finish fourth. Heuzenroeder was sixth ahead Hitech pair Tymek Kucharczyk and Gerrard Xie.

Sharp, meanwhile lost out to JHR’s Bennett on lap one, but he followed his rival home from there to seal his second single-seater title in as many years.

Saturday’s race one winner McKenzy Cresswell was close behind the pair in 11th, with Chris Dittmann Racing’s James Hedley 12th.

Recently crowned USF Juniors champion Max Taylor will contest this weekend’s GB3 round at Donington Park with Arden.

The 16-year-old American began karting in 2020 and has spent the last two seasons racing on IndyCar’s support bill with Velocity Racing Development.

He came sixth in USF Juniors in 2023 before returning to take the title this year with three victories, while also competing on the next step of the ladder in USF2000 where he won four times and was third in the standings.

VRD has already fulfilled its maximum entry of three cars for this weekend in GB3, so Taylor will be run instead by Arden, which has provided support to the American outfit in GB3 again this season. He was third quickest in last week’s Donington Park test day.

“I’m so excited to make my debut in GB3 this weekend at Donington Park,” said Taylor. “After an amazing season in America I am ready to tackle this challenge with the Arden team. I have a lot of confidence in the team and the people around me, so we’ll be hoping for a strong result.”

“We’re delighted to be racing with Max Taylor at Donington Park,” added Arden’s team principal Garry Horner. “Having worked with him before we can already recognise that he has a lot of talent, and the way he built up his speed at Donington was very impressive, especially considering his series inexperience compared to the other drivers on track. We’re excited to see how he gets on this weekend.”

He isn’t the only driver joining GB3 for the Donington Park round, with Freddie Slater already confirmed to be debuting with Rodin Motorsport while Fortec Motorsports has signed karting graduate Alex Kattoulas who will make his first car racing starts.
